Information:
- Students must attempt to speak English at all times.
- We use complete immersion to encourage correct use of English.
- We read stories in English and then develop these into different forms of writing and verbal presentations.
- We learn different spelling and grammar rules.
- Each week we must learn 20 spellings as homework.
- We also complete a weekly journal as homework.
- Additional homework is given as necessary.

Weekly Spellings
- Each week, students will be asked to memorize a list of spellings. This is their weekly spelling homework.
- Each list has a particular focus to teach spelling strategies.
- There is also a two sentence dictation exercise.
- Students are tested at the end of each week.

Each week students will be taught a different grammar point. In addition there will be extension, and revision, lessons when needed. The grammar points are:

Weekly Journal
- Each week, students are asked to complete a journal for their homework.
- This is done on a three week rotation.
- In the first week, they write an original journal. This must be a diary, or they can use one of the journal prompts in the front of their books. The teacher will correct this.
- In the second week, they rewrite this corrected first draft. The teacher will again correct this second draft if necessary.
- In the third week, they are asked to read their journal aloud on video.
- Students use ClassDojo to send their video to be assessed by the teacher.
